COMICS/ AUGUSTINE INTERVIEWS GOD/ BLAUGUSTINE / BOOKS

THE GABRIEL BOOKS

I owe the inspiration and motivation for starting this series to an American poet, Roy Marz, whom I met in Florence many years ago. He had written a suite of poems based on Italian paintings of the Annunciation and in one of the many letters we exchanged, I sent him a cartoon strip which featured an annunciation. I called it Gabriel and God. This turned out to be the first of many steps on a long road which led me, eventually, to Augustine and then to Augustine Interviews God.

I drew the Gabriel Books in various blank books of different sizes and shapes. None have (as yet) been published commercially. However I did produce limited edition etched artists' books of two of them: Philosophy and Love .
